Gemma spent her 20s as an advertising copywriter in London. In 2010 she wrote her first novel, got a two-book deal with Harper Collins (A Girl Like You, The Dating Detox), and moved to New York City with her subsequent three-book series deal with Macmillan (Love And Chaos, The Wild One, Brooklyn Girls). Her books have been translated into seven languages and published in over 20 countries.
In 2014 Gemma started screenwriting with a page-one rewrite of the romantic comedy LOVESTRUCK for Pretty Matches HBO, and subsequently sold an original feature film script, UNDERGRADS, to New Regency Studios. In 2015 she sold a one-hour TV show, TRUE LOVE, to ABC Network. In 2016 she had two television projects in development, HEARTLESS with NBC Universal Studios and HOMEWRECKER with Warner Bros Studios. In 2017 she sold a one-hour feminist family drama spec, RELATIVITY, to NBC Universal, in a blind deal, and her half-hour comedy pilot spec FILTHY LIAR was awarded best comedy in the WGA's inaugural Made In NY screenwriting competition.
