Gemma is a best-selling author and screenwriter. Her novels have been translated into seven languages and published in over 20 countries. She signed her first book deal with Harper Collins in 2010 for The Dating Detox and A Girl Like You, and her second book deal with Macmillan in 2012 for a three-book series: Brooklyn Girls, Love And Chaos and The Wild One.
In 2014, Gemma expanded her focus to writing for film and television, with a page-one rewrite of romantic comedy LOVESTRUCK for Pretty Matches HBO, and she made her first sale with her original ensemble female comedy feature script, UNDERGRADS, to New Regency Studios. In 2015, Gemma sold a feminist romantic comedy anthology, TRUE LOVE, to ABC Network, and in 2016 she had two comedy television projects in development, HEARTLESS with NBC Universal Studios and HOMEWRECKER with Warner Bros Studios.
In 2017, Gemma sold a family drama spec script, RELATIVITY, to NBC Universal with Chernin, in a blind deal. She also sold a one-hour TV drama series, MAVERICKS, to ABC Network, with Mandeville/ABC Studios. Also in 2017, Gemma's half-hour comedy pilot spec FILTHY LIAR was awarded best comedy in the WGA's inaugural Made In NY screenwriting competition. It was subsequently optioned by Hat Trick (UK) with Julie Anne Robinson of Canny Lads attached to direct.
In 2018, Gemma sold a hybrid medical-legal procedural drama THE EXPERT to NBC/Universal with Broadway Video, and wrote THE CORRIDOR for Bravo with Chernin and Kyle Richards. She also sold an adaptation of Tamara Ireland Stone's young adult novel EVERY LAST WORD to ABC Signature, with Mandeville.
